The Keller Central Color Guard is more than just spinning flags — it’s about teamwork, creativity, and learning to shine on and off the field! Our middle school color guard program is open to all students who want to try something new, make friends, and express themselves through movement and performance.
No experience? No problem! We’ll teach you everything you need to know — from basic flag skills to learning fun routines. You’ll get to perform at events with the high school color guard, support your school’s band, and be part of a welcoming community that celebrates confidence and spirit.

Rehearsal & Performance Dates

Middle School Color Guard is an opportunity for future Keller Central students to learn the basics of color guard before entering high school. Students will learn flag technique, dance and movement, choreography, and performance skills while getting to know the Keller Central Color Guard program.

Middle School Color Guard is open to students attending Keller Central feeder middle schools. Grades 6th-8th. No previous color guard experience is required.

No! There are no auditions for Middle School Color Guard. Students of all experience levels are welcome.

Not at all. We’ll teach you everything you need to know! Students with previous dance, cheer, gymnastics, or performance experience are welcome, but experience is absolutely not required.

Absolutely. We understand that middle school students may participate in multiple activities. Families should review the rehearsal schedule before registering and communicate any known conflicts with the staff.

Middle School Color Guard is free to participate in! The only required purchase will be a KCCG Middle School Guard T-shirt. All color guard equipment needed for rehearsals will be provided by the program.

No. Color guard equipment used during rehearsals will be provided.

Middle School Color Guard rehearses on select Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:00–7:30 PM at Keller Central High School. Current rehearsal dates are listed on the Middle School Guard page and the KCCG calendar.

Wear comfortable athletic clothing that allows you to move freely, along with athletic shoes. Hair should be secured away from the face. Students should also bring a water bottle to every rehearsal.
